I was a faculty member at the School of Visual Arts MFA Design / Designer as Entrepreneur program in the late ’90s, and it has been my pleasure to return to the program a number of times to speak about my design practice and, in particular, my work with Esopus for events like this one.

Magazine Workshop
From 1998 to 2001, I was invited by cofounders Steven Heller and Lita Talarico (pictured below) to be a founding faculty member at the MFA Design / Designer as Entrepreneur Program at the School of Visual Arts. I conceived of and taught a graduate seminar called “The Magazine Workshop,” for which students were asked to conceptualize and create from scratch the first issue of a magazine over the course of one semester. The inventive work these students produced was one of the most significant inspirations I had for starting Esopus several years later.
