The Sotheby’s Institute of Art, with locations in New York City and London, offers courses for professionals, pre-college audiences, and graduate students seeking expertise in the art business. For this lecture, I talked about how establishing Esopus as a nonprofit afforded the magazine an opportunity to participate in the art world without having to engage directly with the marketing forces that shape it.
