Esopus hosted this packed event at legendary New York City arts space The Kitchen in late October 2006. The program, first in a series of five Esopus events I programmed over the course of ten years at The Kitchen, featured a panel discussion with cinematographer Ellen Kuras, production designer Thérèse DePrez, and critic Amy Taubin; a reading by playwright Christopher Durang and actress Alma Cuervo of Medea: A Parody (written by Durang and the late playwright Wendy Wasserstein); and Autographs, an audiovisual collaboration between actress Jennifer Jason Leigh, poet Vincent Katz, and artist Alex Katz. The evening ended with a set of music by The Wrens band members Charles Bissell and Kevin Whelan (joined, for one song, by three audience members).
