The subject of this omnibus evening was “Private,” my ongoing series of images depicting the off-limits areas of commercial art galleries. The program included a reading by novelist Ed Park of his afterword to my eponymous artist’s book (Mirrorical, 2024); the first New York screening of the Private single-channel video; and the world premiere of a related composition by Noah and Rosie K featuring a spoken-word performance by screenwriter Hampton Fancher. Live performances by Noah and Rosie were woven into the program throughout the evening, which also included a rare screening of Beach Parking, a short film made by Hampton in 1961, with a new score composed by Noah and Rosie especially for this program.
