The stunning views from 7 World Trade Center provided the backdrop for the launch of Esopus 21. A number of the issue’s contributors were in attendance at the event, including Michael Arad, the designer of the 9/11 Memorial (of which the spectacular room afforded an unobstructed view). Michael's piece about the conception and execution of the memorial appeared in the issue, and his sketches for this landmark graced the magazine’s front and back covers.
